MD Handgun Qualification License (HQL)

The Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL) is needed for Maryland residents who wish to purchase, transfer, or rent a regulated firearm. An HQL is not needed for guns already owned.

PLEASE NOTE: As of January 1, 2021, the Maryland State Police Licensing Division has discontinued printing all Handgun Qualification Licenses (HQL). View their website for additional information.

The demand is out weighing the supply. This causing the prices to sky rocket and for vendors to fight for the ability to keep items in stock. With the high demand of the raw materials for all of our electronic devices it has started a bidding war for those companies in need of it to provide for their clients.
